The Problem
Trained algorithms want you looking at a screen for multiple hours a day, doing nothing but scrolling one video after another.
It can be a short video, a long video or a very long video.
It can be entertainment, self help or courses that promise to make you better.
Some of these may actually benefit you, but definitely not if all you do is consume them and take ZERO action.
Endless consumption to keep your brain occupied so it never falls into depression, thinking, creativity or creation.
If you are not aware that is exactly how a zombie brain works.
How to get out of this endless cycle?
If you truly want to break out from this consumption cycle, the path is hard.
The first thing you are going to experience is brain fog. Think of it as riding a bike on a bad road with a lot of bumps for a long period of time. Your Body gets used too of the bumps and your muscles and bones get habituated for the physical stress.
When you stop riding your body feels awkward as the stress is no longer there and you are in a mental state of absence.
Your mind was processing something in background and now it has stopped.
The sense of absence is very close to what you will feel when you will stop feeding yourself endless content.
If you are strong willed you will stop at once and face the brain fog. If you have weak will power then you may return to the consumption cycle.
Don't be surprised if it sounds like an addiction to you, like alcohol or smoking. Endless consumption is a mental addiction.
Much dangerous because it steals away your ability to create, it makes you mentally numb unlike alcohol or smoking.
How to build in Brain fog?
Your brain is a conscious supercomputer capable of imagination and mathematics that hasn't reached its full potential in all of history. Which makes you capable of achieving the impossible, if you are obsessed enough.
What happens when you don't use it to think and create? You turn into a donkey. I say this not as a joke.
The key to excellence is creating something. It is also the only way to free yourself from the brain fog.
You don't have to create a blueprint of Burj Khalifa, you can start with something as simple as drawing straight lines on a paper.
Just make sure you draw the best lines a human can ever draw without a scale.
That is where your brain fog will disappear and you will find your focus.
You will experience it like deja vu, as you had it since forever.
You will automatically shift from lines to doodling and then something else.
Tis deviation is natural mental state when you don't work for a goal.
The last step
The last step is to find a goal and work on that. Your efficiency, interest and effort will decide what you will achieve.
But the presence of a genuine goal will keep you occupied in the thing you truly want to create.
It can be building your business, it can be writing that email, it can be making your room more liveable, etc.
Something that is superior, something that is great.
One simple warning.
You can't escape the prison you don't want to escape.
